week 6 - vocabulary lesson- Topic: the professions- Teacher : Xenia Vásquez , Daniel Marroquín, Astrid Cruz.

Hello, one more time classmates, I come to you today to talk about the experience that we had as a group to developed a class for children.

Xenia was in charge of developing the first activities, the warm-up, and the presentation. for the warm-up, she performed the hot and cold game that is about jumping to the right side of the room depending on the teacher's command. the children really liked the activity and it was very good to remember the vocabulary of the last class, Then she gave way to the presentation where she introduced the new vocabulary showing the children flashcards about the professions, she asked them in English and Spanish to make sure that the children memorized the vocabulary.

then it was Daniel's turn to take command of the class in the first activity he performed to match the picture, in this activity, the student has to pass in from and have to match the picture with de correct word the students were really excited to make this activity, the second activity that Daniel perform was a ¨letter soup¨ he provide to the students the photocopies and they really were bent on finding all the words in the letter soup, the third activity that Daniel develop was a memory game, in this activity the students showed a great ability to memorize where the couples of the images were, it really was a good activity.

In the end, I was in charge of developing the production stage. I was really nervous because if this part went wrong I was going to be in trouble because in a PPP lesson this part is the most important and I had to do it well, the production was about the children doing a pair work activity mentioning the professions When they completed the objective I felt really proud as it was the first time they interacted in English, there are things to improve on my part but for this it is this subject to learn and improve with each class we do, I don't will lie it was stressful but it was great. then I finish the class with the wrap-up activity, this was about the children going to throw a ball at one of the images and they had to mention the correct name of the image to win a point for their team, they had a lot of fun with this activity.

what a would change of this class?

-I think the images we had were very small and that for future classes is an aspect to take into account.

-I think the alphabet soup was a bit big, for the next class we have to make it smaller.

-The ball that we used was a very hard one, for future classes it is better to use one of a softer
 material.

-What I learn from this class.
what we did in this class was that we removed the part of the review since the children come very late to the classes and for this reason when we make the review and then warm up we steal time from others and sometimes we can not complete the planning lesson. as teachers in charge of the class if we find ourselves in a situation like this, feel free to remove activities if you do not believe them necessary.

-Things to improve.

-control the tone of voice.
-Remove the material that we already use so it does not get in the way.
-leave the nerves behind.
-trust more in myself.

thank you so much for read this blog!

I can say you that this class was perfect, i could see that you improved the things taht in the first timé were a bit bad, so i liked how you developed the clases, as you said the activities were appropiated to children and you were monitoring all the timé to check if children were working.

  2. Hello, Astrid!
Let me tell you that I think the same as Marisol, your class was good. In the same way, I can see that you and your colleagues improved a lot. I liked that they were monitoring all the time, I also loved that you and Daniel modeled the presentation. However, we must add that we must believe in ourselves to create a good atmosphere and that children feel confident. To be general, good work, I think that for the next class you will do much better.
