This week corresponded to develop a reading lesson and those responsible for developing them was Sarai, Paola, Lidia.
let's start talking about Sarai performance, at the beginning we were part of the class because as we know for the hurricane Michael the children aren't going to classes but a few minutes later some kids start to join the class so she starts the class normally, she develops the warm-up, this was of touching the correct image she mentioned a profession and the others had to touch the image that she mentioned, then she put to the students to complete a puzzle after she starts to teach the vocabulary, she give clear instructions also de children were very happy with this part of the class, Sarai did a good job and improved a lot, she played a good role in this class.
Then it was Paola's turn, she developed the 3 during, Paola was very confident and she always had a good attitude, she gives good and clear instructions in the first activity they were looking the pictures in the materials that she gives them, then they start to talk with a partner about what the story was and they repeat the new words that they already learn with Sarai , they read the story together and then they in a pairs she put them to paste the story in the correct image , she had a really good monitoring , then they check if they paste the story in the correct square. the last activity that she made was about mark a picture I think that before made this activity, could be better if she modeling first, the activity was really good, she made a really good job!
the end of the class was Lidia's, she put the children to draw the profession they wanted to be when they were older, she did a good job monitoring the class, she taught a question to the children who were very well, they were very attentive to repeat it and share what they wanted to be when they were older.
-What I would change about this class?
I think I changed the drawing part, the children are tired of this activity when Lidia said they were going to draw the children were not very happy to do it, even one said ¨ draw oh no! ¨ so for future classes no more part of the drawing.
I think that also of the vocabulary where they were given 21 words, I would have removed some that they had already seen in previous classes and others that were very obvious so that they did not feel that they were many words.
-Things to improve.
call the attention of the children who are talking while they should be working in the class.
if they make a mistake, do not make it obvious when it comes to fixing it, as it usually happens, it's normal to make mistakes, we're not perfect.
Thanks for reading this blog, I think that this group made a good job, the material was really amazing!
Hello Astrid.
ResponderEliminarThank you for sharing your opinion in this platform. I have read your blog and it is very interesting I agree with you in almost all the points you have wrote for example in the part you express they give all of new words but I also think they must give some time to coppy or at list repeat the vocabulary more than once. Also I notice that drawing is not the favorite activity of our students and is not necessary to dtaw in every class so tgey have to omite that also I think they have to be more organize with time I remember our first time teaching was exactly the same we could not finish our class. Anyways I know they will improve that areas also I think they did a really good job was a pleasure reading your blog.
Hello, Astrid. I found it very interesting how they developed the class of reading my classmates Paola, Sarai and Lidia. I could not be there that day, but I can say that I admire the girls because they are very applied, responsible and creative. According to the images of your post I could see that the material they used was a lot, and also it was very colorful and creative. That is the idea in which a teacher should work to teach classes, but often you do not have enough economic resources to do it, so you have to improvise or reuse. On the other hand, according to what you write, they were very sure of themselves to develop the class and motivated the children to work. On the contrary, you mention that they taught 21 new words, I think that was too much for the children, it would have been better if there were 15 words at most. We do not have to overload the children because there may come a time when they get sick of studying because of that. They must acquire knowledge little by little and enjoy the process.
ResponderEliminarHello Astrid. Thanks for let us know your point of view and tell us what we have to improve. I hope that as you liked the class, also children have enjoyed it. Remember that we are still learning, but we try to do and give our best every time we have to develop a class. And as Xenia wrote on her comment that we have to be more organized with the time it could be true, but we try to develop all the durings that was the important part, maybe it was because we took too much time, an about the words I remember that the teacher once she told ud that in a pdp lesson it is not necessary to copy, maybe I am worng, but I am going to try to be more organized in that way. Thanks Astrid for your comment.
ResponderEliminarHello Astrid! Let me tell you that it was interesting to read your blog because I did not have the opportunity to see this beautiful experience, but thanks to you I could read that everything went well, the activities were good because the children not only had fun, but also learned a little with the ability to read. I also want to tell you that I agree with you when you say no more drawing, because that activity was repeated several times and as you say to the children it does not seem like fun anymore. Thank you! :)
ResponderEliminarHELLO! let me tell you that I agree with the part in that the kids had to draw maybe this part has to be changed because as we know in many classes the kids were drawing, but the other activities were nice because many of them were new for the kids also for us that was nice! Besides with the vocabulary maybe it was a lot of words but everything was good because the most important is that the kids can learn something about the class.
